John Decker

John has been in full-time ministry since the early '80s and is the founding/lead pastor of Morning Star Fellowship. He and his wife Theresa moved to the Quakertown area in 2004 to begin the ministry here. Together, they have raised two sons and are now enjoying their two families and six grandchildren. John loves family, history, cars, sports, travel, and good food! He also LOVES coffee!  Most importantly, His first love is Jesus and His church

Theresa Decker

Theresa is an Ordained Minister with the Assemblies of God and serves as the Administrator and Financial Director of Morning Star Fellowship. She also serves as a Board Member for HIS FUND Financial Services. She loves her family, which includes six amazing grandchildren; she loves to travel (always searching for the best deals!) and she loves the privilege of serving the local church community.

Ryan DeFrain

Campus Pastor

Ryan lives in the Upper Perk Valley with his beautiful wife Tiffany and their four children. He has been working with MSF since 2013, first as a youth pastor and now leading the Pennsburg campus. Ryan loves serving in Pennsburg community and sharing God's Word with stories, humor, and practical application. He loves coffee and is a die hard Cowboy's fan (his fatal flaw).

Michael Kubus

Mike has currently been serving in his role as the student pastor for three years. He is also the campus coordinator at the Quakertown campus. He has a passion for mentoring youth and discipling others in Jesus Christ. During his free time, Mike loves to read and take occasional afternoon naps.

Sarah is a homeschooling mom of three kids, two with special needs, and a military wife. She is passionate about serving and sharing the love of the Lord with those around her. Sarah is an avid reader who also loves history and documentaries

Jay Schaarschmidt

Jay is a singer, songwriter, producer and worship leader originally from Long Island, NY and is passionate about serving God through worship. He and his wife Trina live in Pennsburg and love serving in worship together. 

When not in the studio or on the stage you’ll often find Jay on a trail or in a kayak.

Mahri Coen

Mahri is happily married to her husband Coen (yes, he goes by their last name) and has two wonderful sons, Lynch and Layton.  She gave her life to Christ in August of 2012 and is blessed beyond measure to serve the Lord.  Mahri likes to be outside in nature hiking or being active with her boys and dogs in her free time.

Cat Markel

Cat, a long-time member of the Quakertown community, has been a part of the MSF family for years. She began as a volunteer in MStar Kids and then joined the staff. She feels honored to share the love of Jesus with them every week. Cat loves to express her creativity through photography, painting, and writing. She also loves to explore outside and can often be found hiking at Nockamixon or other local parks. Cat has been married for 18 years and has 2 teenage children.

Jaringo Buechel

Jaringo is a life-long student, avid reader and relishes time spent over a good cup of coffee diving into the Word and praying with brothers and sisters. She loves to help with projects of all sorts (especially when it involves fixing something with tools). Her background in ministry goes back 30 years serving as an assistant youth director, camp counselor, women's ministry leader and in depth Bible teacher. She went to Philadelphia College of Bible (now Cairn University) and majored in Physical Education/Youth Ministry and Bible. 

Vinny loves serving in our Quakertown community alongside his wife, Vicki, and their two children. They have been part of the Celebrate Recovery family since 2009 and have served in different roles of CR leadership in MStar since 2012. Vinny can also be found riding around town on his beloved Harley Davidson.
